Madrid, 11th November 2024- Amper has completed last Friday an investment in Intelectia Telecom, a Spanish start-up specialised in secure communications and 5G intelligent private networks. It is the formalisation of a loan convertible into shares of Intelectia Telecom, by which Amper acquires the right to acquire a percentage of approximately 10% of the company’s capital in the short term.

This agreement is part of Amper’s strategy to consolidate its position in the field of Secure Communications and Critical Infrastructure Protection Systems for Defence and Security, allowing it to access Intelectia Telecom’s proprietary and exclusive technology that guarantees secure and controlled mobile communications without geographical restrictions, including advanced functionalities of 5G intelligent private networks.

The investment is structured through a loan of 300 thousand euros, convertible into Intelectia Telecom shares in a future capital increase that will strengthen Amper’s position in the company and ensure the commercial deployment of its innovative solutions.

Intelectia Telecom bases its technology on secure end-to-end data transport, avoiding the use of the internet and thus ensuring that data traffic remains in a completely private circuit. This solution eliminates the need for VPN or other encryption protocols, offering unprecedented security, especially valued in sensitive sectors.

Intelectia Telecom’s technology will enable Amper to offer its customers, both private (e.g. for the deployment of logistics solutions) and public (especially law enforcement and sensitive environments such as prisons), an advanced communications security platform.

Amper expects this alliance to not only strengthen its portfolio of products and technologies, but also to deliver a positive economic return with a return on investment in less than two years, underlining its commitment to innovation and technological security in Spain and globally.

This transaction is part of the inorganic growth strategy contemplated in Amper’s Strategic and Transformation Plan 2023-2026, which includes the development of an ecosystem of technology SMEs with strategic, or potentially strategic, capabilities in Defence, Security, and Communications.
