Power generation and distribution systems
Amper’s power generation and distribution systems have been developed for the Eurofighter programme since 1996, a European project carried out thanks to the collaboration of leading technology companies from Germany, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom.
GCU
Direct Current Generation systems provide electrical power to the aircraft. These generators are regulated to provide a constant DC voltage to the loads while controlling possible fluctuations. At all times the generation sources present on the aircraft must be capable of providing the appropriate amount of electrical power to the loads.
The GCUs are responsible for displaying information on the operating status of the generators to the crew and maintenance personnel and for switching the generators on or off in the event of a failure.
Amper meets the requirements for this advanced aerospace technology and the regulatory requirements for safety and quality inherent to the criticality and high performance demanded of combat aircraft.
